Nancy's Coup
Fighting “right-wing extremism” as a vehicle for the totalitarian transformation of the German state
“We will leave no stone unturned when it comes to right-wing extremists. Those who mock the state must reckon with a strong state.” Nancy Faeser, German Minister of the Interior, Feb 13, 2024.
"It's about defending our open society against its enemies. We want to use all the instruments of the rule of law to protect our democracy." Official Declaration of the German Ministry of the Interior, Feb 13, 2024.
“Nancy Faeser plans far-reaching powers for the secret service: freezing accounts for critics, professional bans, travel bans.” (Headline at Tichy’s Einblick, Feb 14, 2024)
Reading the news with my morning coffee has recently become a double-edged pleasure, as I’m only looking to see if plans for new concentration camps or at least Bautzen-style camps for political prisoners have been announced yet in my home country. But the world is lazy. In the infinite dumbness of most non-German exterior observers, Germany is still happy old Merkel-country, a little under the weather maybe, but all in all democracy works. Nothing could be more idiotic. Faster than lighting, and on the waning waves of the Correctiv scandal, Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser, an ironcast technocrat who makes Thatcher look soft, has introduced a 13-point program to fight “right-wing extremism”, a phenomenon that exists nowhere but in the minds of her fellow grifters. A central part of the program is the control of “financial flows”, the attack on so-called “hate speech”, which, by definition, is ”right-wing speech”, and an entirely novel attack on individual freedom on the choice of profession. Her legislative proposal called “Law for the Promotion of Democracy” (Demokratiefördergesetz) aims to mercilessly persecute anyone who publicly doubts that Germany is a Democracy. This is in line with the new socialist understanding of “Democracy”, the shift to which Hans-Georg Maassen so convincingly analysed (see my last post). Also included in the law is a new ruling that guarantees fiscal support to left-wing government friendly NGO’s. A case in point is the insanely named “Trans Federal Association” (Bundesverband Trans). This NGO serving as official government association will not be too bad off: "The Ministry of Family Affairs supported the association with almost 600,000 euros last year; a total of 1,956,580 euros will have flowed into the organization by the end of 2024." The Ministry of Family affairs intends to funnel 182 million Euros in taxpayer money to organisations the Social Democrats and the Greens are friendly with.
There are projects that you would initially dismiss as obscure - such as "Intersectional Youth Labs" in Cologne, which focuses on "queer young people and young people of color with a migration background". At the heart of the project is "a group of young artists with diverse genders, backgrounds and sexual orientations". However, the amount of funding is not quite as amusing as this identity politics word salad: 850,000 euros of taxpayers' money has flowed into the project from the coffers of the Ministry of Family Affairs since 2020.
And there is more. Islamist YouTube collectives also belong to the beneficiaries of the “battle against right-wing extremism”, the irony of which is not even only palpable, but stone-cutting. Apollo news:
The so-called "Datteltäter Akademie" (“Date Persecutor Academy”) has also already received support. "Die Datteltäter" are a collective of Muslim-Islamist Youtubers. In the past, they have attracted attention by mocking the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists after the attack in January 2015, ridiculing the term "freedom of expression" and equating the work of the French satirists with anti-Semitic Nazi agitation. The YouTube channel "die Datteltäter" presents itself as light and humorous, but behind it, it represents strongly conservative Islamic positions that clearly have little to do with an open, liberal society. Nemi El-Hassan, a participant in the anti-Semitic Al-Quds march in Berlin, was also a founding member of the collective… their academic project, a program "for content creators and media newcomers with a history of migration", have been funded by "Demokratie leben!" (“Democracy lives!”, a subproject of the Democracy Promotion Law) with a total of around 837,231 euros since 2020.
This vision of a new German “civil society” to further the influence of die-hard Islamists and Trans and “Queer” organisations was created by Faeser’s technocratic bolt cropping agenda with the sole purpose to consolidate her and her ilk’s reign. The financial support for government friendly NGOs working in the grey area of anti-constitutionalism, in tandem with the simultaneous abolition of civil freedoms, especially in the area of financial rights – banks more often refuse to open accounts for AfD-supporters, a coffee shop in Thuringia only sells its hipster brand espresso to customers who sign a sheet vouching for their “support of our democracy” – is a merely formal and empty grab at almost unlimited governmental power. It is crucial to realise that none of that has anything to do with ideology in the classic sense. This is all about the sheer formality, the post-ideological character of the transformation we have seen since Covid.
Dolores Umbridge Nancy Faeser and her ilk at the presentation of the 13-point “Battle against Far-Right Extremism”
Adding Faeser’s other big project – the facilitation of the naturalization process for immigrants after 3 years of residence in Germany, or even sooner – this will guarantee a strong boost to the Social Democratic and the Green Party in elections, if there is no other way to win over the German populace. And who knows if democratic elections will still be a thing in 4 years’ time if I cannot even buy coffee without signing a paper that confirms my correctthink.
With Brecht, we might ask, however: why the effort? “Wouldn't it be easier if the government/dissolved the people and/elected another?”
In a variation of the old saying, we should at this point perhaps conclude that one should be careful what he mocks. Today it seems that the depravity will find ever new ways to reemerge as ever so strong.
Man, all these radical state sponsored grifters will be the first to fall hard under the state hammer once the tyranny is fully cemented. The radical left crying victim from state sponsored violence, where none exists, are in some sort of self demanding/fulfilling loop, will soon find the oppression they seek. Ugly and violent for them, miserable and grey for the rest of us.
Young and dumb…
Well, since its occupaton Germany has been a tyranny.
